How to Have the Perfect Wellness Weekend in NYC
When visiting NYC, it’s common to get caught up in “go-mode.” A long-weekend trip easily passes in a flash when it’s booked solid with restaurant reservations, museum visits and Broadway performances. If you’re open to slowing down a bit, we encourage you to take time to intentionally relax and restore with some of these more soothing NYC pursuits.
In-House Amenities
An NYC wellness weekend starts with luxury amenities at The Knick. Book a custom, in-room massage treatment, or a NOMI beauty salon service so you look and feel your best before a night on Broadway, or a dinner at Charlie Palmer’s Michelin starred Aureole.
Bryant Park Yoga…
Every Tuesday morning and Thursday evening, Bryant Park, one of our favorite parks, creates space for yogis of all abilities to practice connecting mind, breath and movement. Classes are free, and Gaiam provides yoga mats on a first come, first served basis, so it’s no sweat if you left yours at home.
Or Rooftop Yoga…with wine!
What could be better than public yoga in a park? Private yoga on a rooftop. On Saturday, September 21, the Knick is partnering with Vino Vinyasa for an hour-long yoga class held at the St. Cloud rooftop’s Club Room. After the flow, the small group will head to the rooftop’s terrace for a wine tasting. Learn more at the event’s website here.
Central Park Running
Going for a run in the New York City streets can feel a bit like a game of Frogger when you’re dodging unpredictable pedestrians, red lights and other obstacles. Avoid the hassle by hopping on a train to Central Park. The city banned cars from Central Park pathways in June of 2018, making it an ideal reprieve from busy sidewalks and streets.
Moonflower Spa
This Japanese day spa offers some of the best skincare services in NYC. Try a deep pore cleansing facial, a full throttle microdermabrasion session or a collagen mask to get that skin glowing. If you’re really hoping to treat yourself, consider making time for a deep tissue massage. Moonflower Spa: 8 E 41st St 3 Fl; 212-683-8729
Box + Flow
Box + Flow is a boutique fitness studio combining high intensity boxing with restorative yoga poses to create a workout that serves both body and mind. Save money on your first visit by purchasing their 2-for-1 class special for $33. Box + Flow: 55 Bond St; 212-228-3569
