Out and Proud in New York
NYC Celebrates World Pride 2019
In June, more than 4 million people are expected to celebrate Pride here in New York City. Marking the 50th anniversary of the historic Stonewall Uprising, which ignited America’s LGBT rights movement, New York will be hosting not only its annual city Pride, but World Pride as well.
The Knick is thrilled to be part of the festivities, welcoming guests for a Pride-filled month looking for fabulous parties, heartfelt commemorations, and energizing rallies.
Pride Events

All of June is Pride Month, but it’s the last week of the month that will see the biggest events. And there will be a lot of them: rallies, film screenings, parties, concerts, and, of course, the Pride March. Read on for the essential NYC Pride activities you won’t want to miss.
Explore NYC with LGBTQ+ Friendly Activities

New York City is one of the best cities for gay travelers, welcoming Queer visitors throughout the year to its many cultural attractions and bars. The hub for LGBT New York is along Manhattan’s West Side—conveniently close to The Knick—from Hell’s Kitchen in Midtown to Chelsea and the West Village, home to the Stonewall Inn. This is where the vast majority of New York’s best gay bars are, although the LGBT community is vocally and proudly present throughout the city.
