The Perfect Spring Cocktail: How to make it

The Gibson Girl is one of the most requested cocktails at Charlie Palmer at the Knick, and today we’re sharing the inspiration behind the popular aperitif. Ted Gibson is a fashion guru who has styled looks for Angelina Jolie, Ashley Greene, Gabrielle Union and Lupita Nyong’o. He also happens to be the Knickerbocker’s style curator. As an ode to Gibson, and his role in helping define the look of America’s It Girls, Charlie Palmer at the Knick’s bartenders invented the Gibson Girl, a sweet-tart drink that cosmo drinkers will love.
Here’s how to make this speciality cocktail.

The Gibson Girl

Ingredients

2 ounces vodka (we like Belvedere)

½ ounce lychee juice

¼ ounce lemon juice

¼ ounce cassis

½ ounce egg white

Pour vodka, juices, cassis and egg white into a shaker.

“We use lemon juice to cut down the sweetness of the cocktail,” says head bartender Karma Jamyang.

Shake for a minute, and then pour into a glass. Serve straight up.

“A lot of gents order the Gibson Girl,” Jamyang says. “It’s actually requested more than the Gibson Guy.”
