Fitness App of the Month: The Prettiest Fitness Bracelet
While we respect the FitBit for its health insights and its ability to motivate us, we have never seen the FitBit as an object of beauty. Enter the Mira bracelet.
The new fitness-tracking technology is designed and marketed solely for women (sorry, gentlemen). All the tech components fit inside a shiny black opal, so while Mira offers similar data as FitBit, it’s oh so much prettier to look at.
The bracelet comes in five colors—we opted for the gold, but were seriously tempted by the satin rosé—or you can clip the opal as a brooch.
Here’s how it works:
Tap your finger on top of the opal to check the time, or pinch the two sides to see daily results, including steps, calories, distance and elevation change. You can even use it to monitor your activity from exercises like spinning and yoga. We loved that it told when we had the most energy in the day (8:45am), and when it was time to sleep (11:30pm).
The mobile app was minimalist and easy to navigate, breaking down our activity results in a few polished graphics. It also sends little “boosts” when you need them: One click can reveal a motivational quotation or tip on maximizing a workout. Our favorite? “When life gives you lemons, use them to add zing to your water.”
Bracelets starting at $169.
