The Knickerbocker Hotel famously invented the martini back in 1906. And while the original Knickerbocker martini is a standard, the team here at The Knick recently unveiled a new version. Dubbed the “Astor 400,” this latest iteration of the Knickerbocker martini takes the original martini to new levels. Using premier Beluga Gold Line vodka, the drink is super smooth, with a slightly salty finish.

What’s in a name?
The “Astor 400” Knickerbocker martini takes its name from Caroline Astor’s list of 400 individuals who counted as New York’s “Fashionable Society” in the late 19th century. The Astor family, who opened The Knickerbocker Hotel in 1906, held annual balls with a strict guest list based on Caroline’s infamous selection of “The 400.”
